Larry
A. Bearfield, Chief Executive Officer/Chief Marketing
Officer. Larry Bearfield is an energetic, goal-oriented,
highly experienced executive with an impressive record
managing strategic growth initiatives, image, branding
and marketing in a variety of environments. With over
25 years experience, his leadership has resulted in
the successful implementation of numerous programs in
new business launches, customer acquisition/retention
programs, product introductions and consumer direction
movements. His hands-on entrepreneurial style is centered
around consensus building and collaboration. Bearfield
combines his proven, creative, intuitive skills with
his strong analytic abilities to quickly identify opportunities,
perform situational analyses and then moves to decisive
action. From
1982-1984 he served as Corporate Communications Director
for Electronic Protection Devices, a computer
peripheral manufacturing company. With responsibility
for all communications and public relations, Bearfield
provided the strategic marketing for the introduction
of surge protection products in the personal computer
industry. His work included oversight of a major press
conference featuring Walter Cronkite, directing new
consumer packaging efforts, advertising and trade show
management. In two years, the firm achieved the #1 market
position with 23% market share against 60 competitors.
In 1984, Larry joined Robin Emerson as a partner in
her mid-sized advertising agency forming Emerson
Bearfield & Associates. His responsibilities
included creative and strategic planning, hiring of
team members, account management and developing new
revenue strategies. Clients included: Massachusetts
Water Resources Authority, Data General, Cellular One,
and Loon Mountain Resort. Among his numerous achievements
was the re-branding of Loon Mountain and directing a
marketing effort that resulted in a 16% attendance increase
in one season - the #1 position over 17 other resorts.
Emerson Bearfield was the recipient of numerous awards
including: named one of the Top Five Hottest Agencies
in Boston by Madison Avenue Magazine, and many creative
and effective marketing awards.
In 1994, they merged their company with a public relations
firm to form Burnieika Bearfield Emerson. The
added capabilities allowed them to capture additional
client work that included: Roto-Rooter, Hunneman Real
Estate, Kraft General Foods, Monson Companies and Ski
New Hampshire Association. Among their many achievements
they led the communications efforts to garner public
support for new Wal-Mart stores launched in the northeast.
In 1996 Bearfield co-founded and served as president
of The Wonga Group, a specialized marketing firm
that successfully launched Military Sports and Recreation
Network. The firm created, developed and managed
the world wide program that effectively linked ski and
golf resorts with over 12 million military consumers.
Bearfield oversaw the branding, marketing, sponsorship
sales and development of two dot-coms as well as the
formation of a marketing partnership with MilitaryTimes
Media Group, a unit of Gannett Newspapers. He successfully
negotiated sponsorships with firms that included: Budweiser,
Southwest Airlines, Dollar Car Rentals and 3M.
Since
2002, Bearfield has been providing his strategic marketing
expertise consulting with numerous clients. An active
volunteer in the Carlisle community, Bearfield co-founded
the Carlisle Committee for Tax Fairness, a local
PAC that successfully ended 13 years of overrides. Most
recently, he was a member of the Carlisle Revenue
Enhancement Committee where he headed up a first-ever,
comprehensive department fee study resulting in new
revenue streams to the town.
In his left-over free time, he is a 43 year volunteer
with the Boy Scouts, enjoys skiing, backpacking,
and is an accomplished artist, sculptor and landscape
designer. Larry thoroughly enjoys their two sons Jay
and his wife Meghan & James.
