Robin B. Emerson, President/Chief Financial Officer. Robin Emerson has been lauded for her unbridled energy, savvy business style and astute ability to build cohesive, dynamic teams. An expert in business systems development, she has created and implemented effective business and financial models, managed budget development, metrics and production systems in a number of business environments. For over 25 years, her sterling leadership has been the driving force behind her successful ventures. After receiving her BS at Skidmore College, in 1984 Emerson launched Emerson & Associates Advertising, a local agency offering strategic marketing, consumer advertising, graphics and package design. Within a matter of months, Emerson's astute entrepreneurial management attracted several firms that included: HH Scott Stereo Systems, Pathway Designs, Kyanize Paints and Maser Sportswear. However, it was her skillful management of Electronic Protection Devices that led to her client's rapid growth and the hiring of their Corporate Communications Director which then led to her successful and strategic recruitment of Larry Bearfield as her partner. Forming Emerson Bearfield & Associates, she embarked on a period of outstanding growth that required her to manage the hiring and development of new employees, modify business systems and provide effective fiscal management. New clients attracted to the firm included: Cabot Stains, The Big Dig, Abus Lock Company, Foreign Motors, Inn at Mill Falls, Marriott Vacation Ownership Division, Mountain Club on Loon, Wildcat Mountain and Lexington Savings Bank. In recognition of her successful growth, the firm was named a Small Business of the Year Finalist by Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. The 1994 merger to form Burneika Bearfield Emerson had each of the partners assume specific responsibilities with Emerson taking on fiscal, human resources and operations management of the mid-sized firm. Initially, she took two disparate operations with separate business systems and designed new operations capable of handling many multiples of projects across several departments concurrently. Her responsibilities included: general management of day to day operations, hiring of team members, oversight of client care, media, estimating and production departments and overall fiscal management including budgeting, forecasting and profit and loss analysis. In 1996, deciding to downsize she co-founded The Wonga Group with Bearfield. The boutique firm provided deliberate strategic marketing to a number of clients including: Hilton at Woodcliff Lake, Montauk Yacht Club Resort and Marina and Four Points Sheraton. As a co-founder of Military Sports and Recreation Network, Emerson developed a database management system that enabled the firm to keep track of hundreds of specially negotiated offers available to authorized military personnel through over 400 resorts and military bases worldwide. She was instrumental in the establishment of two dot-coms designed to serve as the primary communications tool to reach the 'niche' audience of nearly 12 million. In addition, Emerson helped manage Sno!!!Jam, a first-ever military snowsports event series held at several resorts including Steamboat, Copper Mountain, Heavenly, Purgatory, Killington and Sunday River. During the process of seeking to sell the recreation portal to broader military-specific community Websites (including one owned by Ross Perot), the 2000 internet meltdown led Emerson to accept the position of COO at Catalyst, a Rhode Island-based marketing communications firm where she established new financial and management systems leading to an immediate level of profitability for the privately owned firm. Most recently, Robin wrote a White Paper, "Are You Ready for the Economic Turnaround? 5 Simple Steps Small to Medium size Businesses Should Take to Get Market Ready." Her report was widely recognized and published in a variety of print and internet environments. In her free time, Emerson is an avid skier, enjoys exotic, world travel, theatre and is an accomplished photographer. Robin always looks forward to spending time with the boys and enjoys having a daughter in the family.
